On The Good, The Bad & The Football this week, Paul, Nicky and Paddy are joined by special guest Shay Given.
Shay lifts the lid on how he went from being a striker as a kid to a goalkeeper and having a trial at Manchester United, shares how he and Steve Harper used to make life hard for potential rivals for the No.1 jersey at Newcastle, recalls the injury that nearly killed him and how he felt being dropped for the 1999 FA Cup Final by Ruud Gullit. He also explains why players would walk through walls for Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby Robson and reveals which player had the hardest shot during his career.
Meanwhile, Scholesy recalls the only time he ever answered back to Sir Alex Ferguson when receiving the hairdryer, while Nicky shares how Dwight Yorke fell foul of the manager early on in his United career after an ill-advised joke at the gaffer's expense. Paul and Nicky also remember Massimo Taibi's ill-fated spell at Old Trafford and Nicky relates why he dumped a hundred quid's worth of 2p coins on Keegan's desk.
