Joe welcomes comedian and podcaster Russell Howard into the consulting room for a session that starts with a light chat about monkeys pleasuring themselves, before escalating to heavier topics like the inevitability of death.

Russell’s trademark positivity is put under the microscope as he opens up about work, ambition, grief, and the anxiety that comes with constantly chasing the perfect show. Along the way, Joe does what he does best, offering wildly unqualified psychological insight, steering conversations into deeply inappropriate territory, and blurring the line between therapy and absolute nonsense.

What lengths is Russell going to in order to prolong his life? Can Joe help him overcome his fear of death? And do dogs have vaginas? Believe it or not, these are all legitimate questions raised (and to an extent answered) on this week’s episode.
